if anyone ever reads this
the Flathead rebuild never made it on to these pages as i eventually got around to starting on it on the 7t10th august when i got back from holiday i then had until 6th Sept to rebuild , so almost every night long hours were spent trying to make pout right the awful lash up and get it ready for the Trip Out
I eventually finished it at 4pm on Sat the 7th and set off for a shake down cruise with Andy Harris of AHCC on a shovel head he had just finished and lee on his Kawa bobber , long story short we made an 85 mile trip into a 95 mile trip and arrived 4 hours after starting out - a couple of breakdowns with the flat head , including whittling a stick down and hammering it into where a gearbox mounting bolt had fallen out - Tesco garage forecourt was the recipient of most of my gearbox oil !!
and its still in there !!
This may be one of the last entries as a new venture will be slowly starting and a new blog Shovelheadz   and website

The FXR has found a new home thanks for all who got in touch 

I could probably have got more breaking it but to much blood sweat and just obstinate i guess

vapour blast the head and and back together , got to make an ally oil breather catcher too



The FXR is MOT d finally , just got to get it UK registered and unfortunately its got to go

New Crank new pistons , valves etc new clutch and primary new alternator , Gearbox work etc cost nearly £3000
New Wheel bearings
Jaybrake / PM New master cylinder seal kits front and back rebuilt callipers and new brake pads all round .

So whats happening well theUL Flathead is still in the states - time and money issues
The TriBsa Supercharged has engine and supercharger alignment issues so is on hold until i can lock myself away  in a mates machinme shop for a couple of days  but i am going to try and get the A10 Special to the Pendine Sands for Speed Weekend June 2nd .23rd - just need to to get to it at the back of the garage  and a quick rebuild !

News update 

The Ironhead has gone to a new home 

The TriBsa build has stalled due to sickness and some technical issues but hopefully we will be  back on track next week , it also seems that the engine is a little more trick that i had thought , so i need to strip it to check the cranksahft before we go any further .

Len at the cylinder head shop has finished lightening and setting up the rockers to match the HC squish head he has flowed and worked his magic on , so it should be running at Christmas Yeh

Back from the sunshine at Boothill Malaga

Just back from visiting Martin Boothill Malaga
and fettling my FXR -
However in a moment of madness i have decided to bring it back to the UK and sell
So it will be on its way here in a couple of weeks
Engine , gearbox and primary completely rebuilt by Martin , bills for almost £3000
Wheels - new bearings , brakes completely overhauled , new paintwork and electrics tidied and
Glide front end , Arlen Ness wheels ,Arlen Ness swinging arm, new seat , Ness front 10 inch discs, custom chrome ally switches new rear disc, new tyres front and back , s/s braided brake hoses , Jaybrake calipers , new seal kits and new brake pads .
Brake Master cylindershave had new seal kits and the brake systems flushed and cleaned
Runs really strong  and the photos don't do justice to the paint work , looks gorgeous dark blue when not in the Sun , when in the sun goes a lighter blue and the metalflake shines through :-)
